# How to put your product in a trending video

Object Swap can recreate a clip from Made’s Motion Library: Recreate loads the template’s video, its reference image and its prompt into the studio. Put your product photo in place of the template’s image, rewrite the prompt for your product, and generate. Made edits the clip with Seedance 2.5 at 480p, upscales it 2× and puts the clip’s own sound back. The person, the moves and the camera come from the template, and the text on your label can drift, so check every frame.

## The workflow

1. **Open Object Swap and pick a clip**
   Open Object Swap. It starts in Swap mode, with the Motion Library on the Templates tab beside the form: Community clips, and Made’s own under Made. Choose one where someone holds or shows a product to the camera, open it to look at its Inputs, then press Recreate. You can also click Add original video and use its Motion Library tab. A template marked Motion Transfer opens in Motion mode, which recasts people instead, so pick one marked Object Swap.
2. **Put your product photo in place of the template’s image**
   Recreate loads the clip as @Video1, the template’s reference as @Image1 and the template’s prompt. Click the @Image1 thumbnail or Use your photo and choose your product photo: a sharp JPG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB that shows the whole product from an angle close to the one in the clip. It takes the template image’s place, so @Image1 now means your product. You can add up to 30 images; say in the prompt what each one shows. The first time you upload, Made asks you to confirm you own the media or have permission to use it.
3. **Rewrite the prompt for your product**
   The prompt box still holds the template’s own prompt, which describes the product it swapped in. Rewrite it, up to 10,000 characters. Name the object in the clip you are replacing, such as “the pale lavender drink can”. Describe your product as it looks in @Image1: shape, colors, cap or lid, and the words on the label. Then list what must stay the same: the person, their hands and grip, the moves, the setting, the camera and the timing. Ask for nothing else to change and no new text. Made adds its own closing line to keep the shot’s length, camera movement and timing.
4. **Check the price on Generate, then generate**
   The Generate button shows the price for your clip before anything runs; it depends mostly on the clip’s length. You need to sign in to generate. Made checks the price again before it starts and stops if it went up. Generate sends the run to the top of Assets, where it shows its progress. It usually takes about 10 minutes; a clip over 30 seconds is edited in parts, one after another, and takes longer. Large video files are resized to 64 MB in your browser before upload.
5. **Review every second before you post it**
   Watch the result at full speed, then pause where a hand covers the product, where it turns, and where it is closest to the camera. Check its shape and colors, every letter on the label and any logo, the fingers around it, and that nothing else in the shot changed. Label text and logos can drift or blur from frame to frame, so for exact branding fix them in an editor or treat the result as a draft.

Recorded Made demonstration

## A drink can swapped into a Motion Library clip

A real Object Swap run from October 27, 2026. It starts from “Kitchen product demo”, a five-second Made-original template in the Motion Library’s Made collection: its cherry-red can reference was replaced with a Field Fizz can photo and the prompt rewritten for it. It was made with the studio’s own request and model, Seedance 2.5 at 480p with the 2× upscale, sent through Made’s API rather than clicked through the browser. The can, its drawing and the big FIELD FIZZ letters carry through the sip; the smaller “Sparkling Yuzu” line came out misspelled, and this template has no soundtrack. It is not a Community trend clip, and one run is not a measure of how often a swap works.

## Prompts you can inspect and adapt

Recorded generation prompt

### The exact prompt from the example

```
Replace the featured product in @Video1 with the product in @Image1. Preserve its recognizable shape, material, colors, and visible design details. Match the source object's placement, perspective, interactions, shadows, and reflections. Preserve hands, people, and the rest of the shot.
In @Video1, replace only the pale lavender drink can with the slim pale-yellow aluminum can in @Image1: its green yuzu-branch illustration, the bold dark-green "FIELD FIZZ" lettering with "Sparkling Yuzu" below it, and its silver top. Keep the same size, grip, location, perspective, rotation and realistic reflections. Preserve the woman's face, hair, clothing, hands, sipping, expression, timing, kitchen, camera framing, phone-camera texture and original movement exactly. The can stays stable and solid throughout the shot. Do not change any other object. No smoothing, no beauty retouching, no cinematic relighting, no other new text.
Preserve the source shot duration, camera movement, timing, and all elements not explicitly selected for editing.
```

The middle paragraph is the rewritten direction. Made added the first paragraph, its own product-swap instruction, because this template was made as a product swap; a template made as a custom edit, as the Community ones are, adds none. The last line goes on every Object Swap edit. These are instructions to the model, not a promise that every detail lands.

Prompt recipe to adapt

### Adapt it to your clip and product

```
In @Video1, replace only the [object in the clip, with its color and where it is, e.g. the white bottle in her right hand] with the [your product: shape, colors, cap or lid, label words] in @Image1. Keep the same size, grip, position, perspective and motion, with realistic reflections and shadows. Preserve the person’s face, hair, clothing, hands, expression, moves, timing, setting, camera framing and lighting exactly. The product stays solid and stable throughout. Do not change any other object. No new text, logos or captions.
```

Replace the brackets with what is in your clip and your photo. Name the object you are replacing by color and position, never just “it”.

## How an Object Swap edit is priced

By the length of your clip at 480p, plus the 2× upscale of the result. The price shows on Generate before you run it.

The edit is priced per second of your clip at 480p, rounded up to a whole second. The 2× upscale adds a charge that depends on the size and length of the result. A clip over 30 seconds is edited in parts that overlap slightly, so a little more than its length is billed.

Price source: [Public video-editor catalog](https://www.made.app/api/video-editor) · Checked 2026-10-27

A five-second template costs less than a thirty-second one, so test a short clip first. Made confirms the price for your exact clip before it starts. If the edit fails, its charge is refunded; if only the upscale fails, you get the 480p edit and aren’t charged for the upscale. Each new attempt is priced again.

## What to review before you use the result

| What you see | What to try |
| --- | --- |
| The result follows the template’s product, not yours | The template’s prompt describes its own product. Rewrite it for yours, and check that your photo replaced the template’s image as @Image1. |
| The clip’s original person is in your video | In many Community templates, Image 1 is the new performer. When your product photo takes its place, the person filmed in the clip stays. Look at the template’s Inputs before Recreate and pick one whose Image 1 is a product, or start from a clip you filmed. |
| The label text or logo is wrong | Use a sharp, front-on product photo and spell out the label words in the prompt. Small print still drifts; fix exact branding in an editor or treat the result as a draft. |
| Fingers merge into the product | Pick a clip where the grip is clear and the product is not hidden for long, and use a photo from a similar angle. Check every frame where a hand passes in front of it. |
| Something else in the shot changed | Keep the prompt to one object, name everything that must stay, and ask for no other changes. Prompt limits reduce changes; they don’t lock pixels. |

## Work with Claude and Made

The Made connector can upload a clip and a product photo, quote a generation and run catalog video models with reference media; ask it to check that the Seedance 2.5 edit is listed. It can’t browse the Motion Library or load a template’s clip, images and prompt the way Recreate does, and it doesn’t add the studio’s preset lines, so give it your own clip and the whole prompt. Claude is most useful here for writing the prompt.

Conversation starter

### Ask your assistant

```
Help me put my product into a short video. I’ll attach the clip and a photo of my product. First write an edit prompt that names the object in the clip to replace, describes my product from the photo, and lists what must stay the same: the person, their hands, the moves, the setting and the camera. Then use Made to check the catalog for the Seedance 2.5 video edit and its inputs, show me the exact quote for my clip, and generate one result only after I approve.
```

If the connected client doesn’t expose the edit model or the upload, use the studio. Templates live there too: to start from one, open Object Swap, press Recreate on the template, put in your product photo and paste the prompt Claude wrote.

## Questions about this workflow

**Does the person in the template stay the same?**

Yes. The person, their moves, the camera and the timing come from the clip, and Object Swap changes the object your prompt and photo describe. In the example, the woman, her sip and the kitchen are the template’s; only the can is new. The whole shot is generated again, so check faces and hands too.

**Can I use a Motion Library clip in a paid ad?**

The studio doesn’t state separate usage terms for Motion Library clips. Before you run an ad, make sure you have the right to post the clip you start from; the example here uses a Made original from the library’s Made collection. When you upload your own media, Made asks you to confirm you own it or have permission, and that everyone in it agreed.

**Can I use a trending clip of my own?**

Yes. Add an MP4 or MOV from 4 seconds to 3 minutes; a large file is resized in your browser before upload, and from a longer video Object Swap uses the first 3 minutes. Use clips you have the right to edit and post.

**Will my label and logo be exact?**

Not reliably. The model draws the product again in every frame, so small text, fine print and logo shapes can drift, blur or change between frames. Check every frame before you use the video as a product ad, and fix exact branding in an editor.
