## Color grade your footage in 3 steps

1. Step 1
   **Add footage and a reference**
Drop in a clip or a photo, then any still whose look you love: a film frame, a photo, your last shoot.
2. Step 2
**Get a grade built from nodes**
Balance, contrast, saturation, color wheels and skin tones are set for you, and every one of them stays editable.
3. Step 3
   **Tweak it until it’s right**
Say “warmer skin” or drag a wheel, compare with the wipe, then export the video, the photo, or a LUT.

Every clip below is the tool’s own export: the same shot, graded with a look or matched to a reference, with the original on the left of the line.

## AI color grading with real nodes

### Match any reference

Made solves a reference into contrast, saturation and color wheels you can see and change, not a black-box filter.

### Video and photos, in your browser

Grade clips up to 3 minutes or photos up to 16 megapixels. Nothing uploads, and video exports keep their audio.

### A LUT for any editor

Take the grade into DaVinci Resolve (free or Studio), Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or CapCut as a .cube file.

## Still have questions?

Straight answers about matching, LUTs and your footage.

### What is Color Grading?

A free color grading tool for video and photos. Give it your footage and a visual reference, and it builds a grade from editable nodes: balance, contrast, saturation, color wheels and skin tones, plus film texture like grain, halation and bloom.

### How does matching a reference work?

Made samples colors across your clip and the reference, then sets each node: black and white levels and contrast, how saturated the colors are, and the tint of the shadows, midtones and highlights. Skin protection turns on when there are people in the frame. Everything it sets stays editable.

### Can I describe the look instead?

Yes. Type something like “teal and orange blockbuster” or “warmer skin, cooler background”. The assistant looks at your frame and sets the nodes, and you can keep asking for changes or undo them.

### Can Claude or ChatGPT grade my footage?

Yes. Connect Made in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP app (made.app/mcp) and ask it to color grade a photo or a frame. It sets the nodes itself, looks at the result, and gives you a .cube LUT plus a link that opens the grade here, where you add the full video.

### Do I need DaVinci Resolve Studio?

No. The grading happens in your browser. If you finish in an editor, the .cube LUT works in the free version of DaVinci Resolve as well as Studio, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro and CapCut.

### How do I use the LUT in DaVinci Resolve?

On the Color page, right-click a node, choose LUT and pick the file, or copy it into Resolve’s LUT folder and refresh the list. The LUT carries the color nodes. Grain, halation, bloom, haze, softness and vignette depend on neighboring pixels, so they are in your exported video but not in the LUT. Made for DaVinci Resolve (made.app/davinci-resolve) can also put grades on your clips for you, from Claude.

### Does my footage upload anywhere?

No. Decoding, grading and encoding all run in your browser. Only when you ask the assistant for a look does it send a small preview frame, never the video.

### What footage works best?

Standard video from phones and cameras (Rec.709 or sRGB): MP4, MOV or WebM up to 3 minutes, and JPG, PNG or WebP photos up to 16 megapixels. For log footage, apply your camera’s conversion LUT first, then grade.

### Is it free?

Yes. Grading, matching, exporting and the LUT are free, with no watermark. The assistant has an hourly limit, which is higher when you’re signed in.
