WAN 3.0 vs WAN 3.0 Prime

Two speeds of WAN 3.0. Alibaba sells Prime as the faster version, with the same inputs and capabilities. In our test Prime finished 5-second clips 1.7x faster at 720p (83 s against 143 s) and 1.3x faster at 1080p (109 s against 143 s). It costs about 40% more: 14 credits a second against 10 credits at 720p.

Both models run in Made, so the prices below are what the Generate button shows — and you can switch between them per generation. See the speed test and every take.

Speed test

Seconds from submit to a finished 5-second clip, run on 2026-10-14. Each prompt went to both fal text-to-video endpoints at the same moment with identical inputs: 5 seconds, 16:9, audio on, prompt expansion on, the same seed. Times run from submit to finished video; queue wait was under 6 seconds on both tiers. One run per prompt, tier and resolution.

The 720p takes

Same prompt and seed on both. The seed gives a different take on each tier, so judge them as two takes, not a frame-by-frame match.

Night market wok

A street food cook in a busy night market tosses noodles in a flaming wok, steam rising under string lights, sizzling oil and crowd chatter, handheld camera slowly pushes in.

Choose WAN 3.0 when…

  • You can wait about a minute longer: a 5-second 720p clip is 50 credits, against 70 credits on Prime.
  • You render in batches or overnight, where a minute per clip changes nothing.
  • You work at 1080p, where Prime saved only about 35 seconds a clip in our test for 140 credits instead of 100 credits.

Choose WAN 3.0 Prime when…

  • Someone is waiting on the clip: at 720p Prime saved about 60 seconds per 5-second clip.
  • You are iterating live (tweak, rerun, compare) and turnaround sets the pace.

The verdict

Default to WAN 3.0. Pay for Prime when turnaround is worth 20 credits more per 5-second 720p clip. Both take the same inputs, and across our five side-by-side prompts neither tier looked consistently better.

Or don't choose: run the same prompt through both and keep the better result — at these prices the experiment costs pennies.

Common questions

How much faster is WAN 3.0 Prime than WAN 3.0?
In our test on 2026-10-14, Prime finished a 5-second clip in a median 83 seconds against 143 at 720p (1.6x to 1.9x per prompt), and in 109 seconds against 143 at 1080p (1.2x to 1.5x). Standard WAN 3.0 took about as long at both resolutions; Prime slowed down at 1080p.
Times run from submit to finished video on fal, five prompts per resolution, with both tiers submitted at the same moment. The raw runs are published with this page.
Is WAN 3.0 Prime better quality than WAN 3.0?
Alibaba positions Prime as a faster version of WAN 3.0 with the same capabilities, not a higher quality tier. In our five side-by-side prompts the same seed gave a different take on each tier, and neither looked consistently better.
Both returned 1280×720 at 30 fps with audio, and both spoke the scripted line in the café prompt word for word.
Which is cheaper, WAN 3.0 or WAN 3.0 Prime?
WAN 3.0. A typical generation costs 20 credits versus 28 credits for WAN 3.0 Prime. The Generate button shows the exact price before you run either.
Can I use both WAN 3.0 and WAN 3.0 Prime in Made?
Yes. Made is model-agnostic: pick either model per generation, pay each one’s price in credits, and compare the results side by side in your library.
Do I need a bigger plan for either model?
No. Every plan opens every model. Failed generations are refunded automatically, and unused credits roll over.
